What are Hobbas currently?
Hobbas are experienced players in Habbo Hotel: Origins who dedicate themselves to welcoming new users and helping them get familiar with the Hotel. Their main mission is to introduce the Habbo Way and ensure that newcomers’ first experience is safe, fun, and enjoyable. Currently, Hobbas have specific powers to help them perform their role:

  • Moderation in public rooms: They can kick or mute users in public rooms to maintain a safe and pleasant environment for everyone.
  • Assistance in private rooms: In private rooms, they can exercise these powers only if the room owner allows it in the settings.
  • Interaction with new users: Their primary function is to guide new players, answer questions, and show them how the Hotel works.

These powers are limited compared to the original Hobbas (2003–2005), but still allow them to play an active role in the community. These powers were determined through community vote at the start of Habbo Hotel: Origins (more details below).

Where do Hobbas come from?
The Hobba project began in 2003, during the early days of Habbo Hotel, and continued until 2005. At that time, Hobbas acted as volunteer moderators, helping maintain order, answering questions, and supporting the Hotel team in assisting players. They had advanced permissions, such as the ability to kick users from rooms, mute conversations, and apply sanctions, which allowed them to play a crucial role alongside official moderation.

Although their role was eventually retired, their spirit of help and community left a lasting mark on Habbo’s history.

How were Hobbas reintroduced in Habbo Hotel: Origins?
The return of Hobbas was decided through a community vote, marking the first official poll in Habbo Hotel: Origins. This poll, consisting of 14 questions, allowed the community to decide whether Hobbas should return and, if so, what their role in the Hotel would be.

The vote remained open for two weeks, and the results were published on 07/05/2024. Subsequently, applications for new Hobbas opened on 07/30/2024, and the selected Hobbas were announced on 09/09/2024. Finally, their powers were officially activated on 09/20/2024, as confirmed by Olsoweir in a Discord post.

Roles and functions of Hobbas

Silver Hobbas

  • Respond to help requests through Help Express.,
  • Guide players and answer general questions, such as how to use furnis.,
  • Cannot moderate public rooms; that is, they do not have the authority to kick or mute users.,

Gold Hobbas

  • Have all the abilities of Silver Hobbas, plus some additional moderation tools.,
  • Can kick or temporarily mute users in public rooms.,
  • Send alerts to warn about inappropriate behavior and help maintain a safe environment in public rooms.,
  • Can moderate private rooms when the owners allow it. When moderating a private room, a Hobba can kick or temporarily mute users, or send an alert to warn about inappropriate behavior.,

Hobbas are not official moderators, so they cannot permanently or temporarily ban users. This responsibility lies solely with the Habbo moderation and support team.

How can I recognize a Hobba?

All Hobbas wear a special badge that they must show when requested.

Can I report hacks or bans to Hobbas?

No. Hobbas do not have access to chat logs like the official staff (Habbo Staff). To appeal a ban or report a hack, you must contact the Habbo Helper (Zendesk).

Hobba assistance in Private Rooms

For Hobbas to assist you in your private room, you need to enable it in your room settings:

  • Go to Room Settings.
  • Navigate to the second page.
  • Make sure the option “Allow Gold Hobbas to Moderate this Room” is checked

How to Call a Hobba.

Calling a Hobba

  • Click the blue “?” icon located in the bottom-right corner of the Habbo game interface.
  • The Habbo Help section will open. From there, select “Ask a Question.”
  • Once you’ve filled in the details, click the “Send” button. This will send a Call for Help, notifying the Hobbas.

Important: The “Report a Player” option is not connected to the Hobbas, so they won’t be able to assist you with those cases.

What Happens Next?
A Hobba may appear in your room to help you directly with your question, or you might receive an on-screen alert with the answer you need.

This system ensures quick and helpful responses from Hobbas.

Final Reminder: Hobbas are not moderators. For any serious matters, you should contact the Habbo Help Team (Zendesk) or select the “Report a Player” option.

Pro Tip: For better tracking and investigation of each report, it’s recommended to first report the user in-game using the “Report Player” option, and then open a ticket in the Habbo Help (Zendesk) explaining the case in detail again. This helps the support team handle the situation more efficiently and thoroughly.
