Self Moderation

This guide will encompass all the information you need to make sure you can use the self moderation tools that have been added to Habbo Hotel: Origins. These were added as exclusive/variation features and may not be the same as the modern client/Habbo X. Some of of this work was done by community members, mainly Matthew! Self moderation tools give you control over your own experience in the hotel by allowing you to block specific words, phrases, and users. You can also report rule violations, call for Hobba assistance, and contact customer service for serious issues. These features help you maintain a comfortable and safe environment!

Custom Word & Phrase Blocking

You can add your own words to the Bobba filter! This means when a user sends a message with these words in it, you won't see them and they will be "Bobba'd" out, like other words in the official chat filter.

How It Works:
When a blocked word or phrase appears in chat, it will be automatically filtered and replaced with "Bobba" - just like the hotel's default word filter! This only affects what you see, not other players.

  • Completely private - only affects your view
  • Easy to add and remove at any time

Managing Your Word/Phrase Filter

Adding Words/Phrases:

  1. Click on your Habbo's image in the bottom left corner
  2. Click on "Blocked Content"
  3. Go to the "Phrases" tab
  4. Type the word or phrase in the box next to the "Add" button
  5. Click "Add"
  6. The word/phrase will appear in "Currently Blocked Phrases"

Removing Words/Phrases:

  1. Open "Blocked Content""Phrases" tab
  2. Click on the word/phrase in the "Currently Blocked Phrases" box
  3. Click "Remove"
  4. Done! The word/phrase is no longer filtered

Blocking Other Habbos

You can block other Habbos within the hotel. This is more than the old "Shut Up" system - this indefinitely blocks Habbos until you unblock them.

What Happens When You Block Someone:

  • They cannot see your messages
  • You cannot see their messages (in room or chat history window)
  • They appear as a "Ghost Habbo"
  • Their username will display as "Blocked Habbo" instead (when you click on them)

Multiple Ways to Block:
You can block Habbos in three different ways:

  1. Through Blocked Content settings
  2. By clicking "Block" on their infostand
  3. Within the Chat History window

Pro Tip: Blocking is completely private - the blocked user won't be notified that you've blocked them!

Step-by-Step: How to Report a Player

1. Open Help Menu
Click on the blue ? icon in the bottom right of the client

2. Select Report Option
Click "Report a player"

3. Pick a Habbo to Report
Under "Pick a Habbo to report", check the box next to the Habbo you want to report

  • Use "Next" and "Previous" buttons to scroll through pages of users

4. Select Reason(s)
Under "What's going on", select the most fitting reason(s) from the dropdown menu(s)

5. Select Chat Messages
In the next box, select the chat message(s) you want to report

  • You can select multiple messages

6. Continue
Click "Continue"

7. Submit Report
Click "Continue" again to submit your report

8. Confirmation
After a while, you'll receive confirmation that your report has been received

Hobbas: Volunteer Helpers

Hobbas are volunteer helpers within Habbo Hotel: Origins who can assist with non-serious issues and help moderate the hotel!

What Hobbas Can Do:

  • Mute disruptive users
  • Kick users from rooms
  • Support with non-serious issues
  • Help in both public and private rooms


Hobba Assistance in Public Rooms:
Hobbas can automatically help in all public rooms throughout the hotel.

Hobba Assistance in Private Rooms:
For Hobbas to help in your private room, you need to enable it in your room settings:

  • Go to Room Settings
  • Navigate to the second page
  • Make sure "Allow Gold Hobbas to Moderate this Room" is ticked

How to Call a Hobba

Need help with a non-serious issue? Hobbas are available to assist when you need them!

Step-by-Step: Calling a Hobba

1. Open Help Menu
Navigate to the blue ? icon in the bottom right of the client

2. Ask a Question
Click on "Ask a Question" on the window that appears

3. Describe Your Issue
On the next screen, type your issue or question in the text box

4. Send Your Request
Hit "Send"!

5. Wait for Response
This will alert all Hobbas, and one will come to your rescue if/when available!

Hobbas are volunteers, so please be patient and respectful!

How to Call a Hobba

Reporting Serious Issues

For serious issues that require official intervention, you should contact Habbo Hotel: Origins Customer Service directly through Zendesk.

What Qualifies as a Serious Issue:

  • Serious safety concerns
  • Account security issues
  • Payment or billing problems
  • Technical issues affecting gameplay
  • Ban appeals
  • Any issue requiring official staff response
